Chemical PPE: preventing chemical risks at work
Delta Plus has selected a range of PPE to help you protect yourself against chemical risks when handling chemicals.
Masks and goggles
Chemical molecules can take on many states (gaseous, liquid or solid in the form of microparticles), which makes them particularly insidious. Delta Plus therefore recommends appropriate eye protection with a high visor, or even a polycarbonate Irazu mask, which is watertight thanks to its flexible seals.
Respiratory protection
Certain operations (decanting products, maintenance or cleaning) can lead to a concentration of harmful pollutants or toxic fumes in the air. When this concentration reaches a certain threshold, it is essential to protect yourself with a respiratory mask. We offer a range of reusable masks with cartridges suitable for chemical environments.
Chemical protective gloves and clothing: Deltachem PPE
Our catalogue features almost thirty models of gloves dedicated to chemical protection, to meet a wide range of requirements. Classic or cuffed models, for use in dry or wet environments, with a composition designed to withstand the chemicals handled. The glove gauge must also be adapted to the operator's task.
For overall protection against exposure to chemical substances, you can opt for full-body suits with watertight seams - like the Deltachem suit, for example - and protect your feet from any splashes by wearing suitable PPE such as the non-slip disposable Deltachem overboots.
ATEX environment: antistatic PPE:
Handling chemicals can sometimes lead to the risk of explosion. In so-called ‘ATEX’ environments, where there is a high risk of explosion, it may be necessary to wear antistatic PPE to prevent sparks from being generated. This is the case with the
Deltachem suit, but also with our
Petro gloves. In this case, to prevent the risk of injury, a helmet and safety shoes to avoid shocks, as well as
anti-acid and anti-fire clothing can be added.
